Players should be able to land while fighter is deployed

For clarity, do you mean you should be able to land your fighter, or that you should be able to land your ship whilst your fighter is deployed?

Sure, but OP merely said "crew". I'm assuming they mean player controlled crew.

Although the ability to call in an NPC fighter airstrike with a laser pointer sounds rather tasty...

IMO crew is actually the SLF crew aka the NPC... not necessarily multicrew - which is a much rarer occurrence for piloting the SLF

I believe OP means option 2 - land your ship and get out in an SRV or on foot while the fighter is still in the air.

Although both options would be great, Zac!

Hi Zac, I mean being able to land the ship whilst fighter is deployed.

I envision loading up an Anaconda with vehicles, fighters and friends and using it as a base of operations to assault surface POI’s, it would be nice to take up to 5 or 6 players onboard. (I added multiple SRV bays and passenger cabins to my in the hope I could use this in Odyssey)

Physically piloting a fighter and being able to land and get out like someone in the thread suggested would also be very nice.

This would enrich the ‘sphere of combat/combined arms/multi-layered, deep, tactical battlefield‘ a little.

Thanks, Cain.

I think both options would be viable. For example, I take fighter bay to my 73+ Anaconda. Good thing to find bio signals fast, if it could land.
Revers option when main ship landed and fighter keep flying is used for combat support.

Both would be really nice to have! The fighters already have landing gear modelled and deployed state animation, after all.

That is an awesome idea!

5/6 players in one ship would be great, but I can only imagine how much time it would take to meet each other in game - instancing is tragic since the start of ED.
I'm baffled why we have 4 player teams but not a single ship was changed to accommodate that.

At the moment fighters are piloted remotely.

Having the option to fly them "physically" and being able to land on planets is something that a bunch of people would like.

+1
I'd take it a step further and allow for players to land fighters and disembark as well. Also I would have larger settlements have fighter bays. When they get attacked they scrabble fighters and so players can dog fight in fighters and ships and engage on the ground with SRV and on-foot. That'd be kewl.
