They can be added to vanilla without too much problem. I wouldn't add them to any other mod if multiplayer is your thing as you will be kicked for cheating.

If you want to play singleplayer only, then you can add them to anything.

You can consider this post a request for a FLMM pack to add the ships in Freelancer.

Like a few of the others, I have no idea how to add them manually.

Nice job there Gibbon :) And posting these vids is a great way to get cultivate interest within the space sim community. People can say what they like, but I think an Elite conversion for Freelancer would be a great thing. The original game was not an accurate re-creation of space flight dynamics, but it was a lot of fun. I do hope you get some backing. I would help if I only had the know-how :eek:

Isn't there anyone out there in the Freelancer modding community who would be interested in helping Gibbon?

I still haven't worked out how to add the Elite ship pack he's included into Freelancer yet. Some of the "tutorials" I've seen for adding ships seem to go off into about 10 million different things, losing me by the time I've worked out what the first thing I'm supposed to be looking at is...
