Elite / Frontier Playing Frontier again?

Anyone giving Frontier a go, again? I just started playing it a few days ago. I did the broken trade route of Barnard's Star to Sol and ended up with a Panther Clipper by the end of the day. However, with a pile of money in the bank, I bought a Cobra Mk.III and turned to combat. So far, so good! Just trolling the systems with pirate problems and trying to get my rank up so I can start doing some assassination missions. Very fun stuff! I wish I knew how to navigate and fight this well back when I first played it on my Amiga 1200.

Still play it. My preferred start is in Lave with the cobra and big bounty to pay before entering federal or impoerial space. Discovered the joy of playing without autopilot a few years back as well.

An asp with a class 3 military drive and 20mw beam laser makes a nice combat ship. Gotta be careful to carry some spare military fuel though just in case.

Frontier First Encounters is worth a go too, theres a nice storyline through it involving the thargoids if you wish.

I never really stopped playing - although I tend to play FFE more than Frontier (Much easier to run in XP thanks to having JJFFE)

ive been playing frontier and FFe since release and have not stopped i think my saved game is from 1994 still playing it..

From time to time I'm playing Elite2 on A1200/030 that I still have to this day.
At the beginning I was trading on many different random routes. Then I moved to Sol-Barnards Star. Then Imperial courier missions between Facece and Vequess. And now I usually do just some stupid things like buying a Lifter and trying to manually land it on gas giants, or buying 2t of water and dumping it over another ship at the starport, or playing around with these airfighters against police. At some point I tried to land on surface of Sun with Lifter. And after I discovered that there is a trainer for Amiga version, I made some interesting experiments - eg equipping Imperial Courier with Class 8 hyperdrive (engines are looking amazing with that).
