Playing in 3D on a Benq W1070+

Hi all,

I recently got some DLP link glasses and decided to have a go with these and my projector on ED. Well some interestingly strange things happened.

Firstly the 3D menu just displayed two pictures next to each other in the game. Also when I go back to normal mode but switch 3D on my projector the only options are top down and frame packing. Frame packing has no noticable 3D effect and top down only works if I tilt my head 90 degrees.

All other 3D options on the projector are greyed out.

I've tried 1080p @24 hz and 720p at 60 Hz with the same result.

Kind of at a loss, I know very little about 3D and followed the instructions but sadly it just wont work :(

You need to set side-by-side in the benQ 3D options.

The option is greyed out at all usable resolutions except very low resolution - so low I can barely see a third of my screen. From what I have read the video signal needs to be 1080i at 50 hz - something my GTX 970 cant or wont display. I have literally no idea how to get it working except to return the projector. It works immediately when plugged into my 3D Blu Ray player - didnt even need to set anything.

Damn shame really.

I should add that even at very low resolutions with SBS enabled - the 3D still doesnt work. the image just smears two distorted images on top of each other.

Have you tried asking here: http://www.avsforum.com/forum/payments.php

I have the same projector and it's awesome for movies on my 140'' painted on screen.
