Playing together

so i allready enjoy elite dangerous but i was planning to play it together with my cousin. u know bounty hunter brothers

however he seems to have problen joining online. everytime he selects open play the client starts the offline mode.

anyone know how we can fix this?

i believe you start in offline mode till you make your first jump to a new system

i didnt have to do that i started in system and just started playing... granted i made a few jumps out of curiosity (pretty sure i spelled that wrong ^^)...

You need to make a HS jump before you join open play. make sure you are registered as friends to make meeting each other easier

I am playing with a friend who lives in Arizona and I am based in the UK. We are on each others friends lists and still can't see each other in the game, I know it is still early and I hope they can fix the matchmaking to make it easier to group up. We are long time buddies from Eve Online.

Have you tried a private group? It may be that the connection between you PCs is just too poor for the matchmaker to put you together.

Try ticketing it, it may be something in the config at either end, like firewalls or antivirus. Ultimately, you are on opposite sides of the planet and there's only so much the game can do!
