Playing with XBL Friends

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but trying to play with a couple of friends and we're at the same station/system and can't see each other. Also, I'm unable to join them.

Something special I need to do? Couldn't join from 'Friends' snap either? I get that there are 'instances' but...

You have to all be on the same server. It will tell you what server you are on at the main menu, keep logging out and logging in until you are all in the same one. Then, when you join the open play server all go to the same station and hope no one drops out. It's a pain but that should be fixed soon.

Yes this is a problem without being able to play with friends a mmo is just a mo I talked my three other brothers into buying this game and we cant play together not cool. Lol so now we just play separately in a party talking about what were doing in game come on frontier this should be pretty high on the priority list pls post a eta on multi player. Thanks, great game so far big fan.

If your having trouble I've found the easiest workaround for this is to drop in and out of supercruise until you end up in the same instance this seems to actually make you change servers as well as when I logged In I was on server 15 and my buddie was on 25 and we were still able to meet up

Yeah...They still have some work to do integrating all the XBL stuff into the game properly. I haven't recommended the game to anyone on my list that hasn't already bought the Preview because I don't want to catch S%$# if they never get it right! ;)

If you both go to the same star system, both hyper out to the nearest Star system them both hyper back to the same star system it seems to work that way.
