Pleasantly suprised

Well I had taken a wrong turn forgot to plan out my scoopable stars and ran out of fuel in my Viper.
I had about 500k of bounties to cash in the Alliance system and I was going round the houses from the Imperial system when I ran into T type star after T Type.
I was about to rage quit knowing that I would have to loose a chunk of money on my mistake when I thought , "well they might have patched something recently that gets me out of this hole" so I searched the forums.
I discovered an intrepid band of CMDRs who deliver fuel. FuelRats - who knew.
Anyway after about 5 mins. it really was that quick I was back up and running.
So a big thank you for this people. It was really appreciated.
Space is not so cold and lonely after all :)

The Fuel Rats are far and away one of my favourites in Elite player-created gameplay. Classy bunch of space rodents.

Immense! :D

How does it work in practice? Do they get paid?
No, I don't think they get paid, they just do it because they are awesome. If you run out of fuel, you contact them and one of them will come refuel you. They are the beezes kneeses.

The Fuel Rats are a godsend for us Explorers too...if we ever end up in a dead sector, we can always count on them to come to our rescue (even if it might take a few weeks LOL). Unfortunately, there's a bunch of CODE pirates who keep setting traps for them and holding them hostage, so there's some people starting to move away from being willing to do it now :(

We do it for altruism and a philanthropic gesture, and we enjoy helping out.
Also we are not scared of some code pirates as we are armed.
