Pleasantly surprised with my T9

So, I carry five racks of seeker missiles for self-defense for ages now, but have never used them so far. When I left the station I saw laserfire and went closer to examine what was going on, turned out police was fighting a wanted criminal. Good citizen that I am, I decided to help and fired a salvo of five.
Well... let's just say the criminal was put down faster than I thought. :D

Now I obviously wouldn't advise T9 as a PvP ship. But the next time I encounter a NPC pirate, I will really think about whether running is actually necessary.

Well, i do know that most of the forumites know about the "Battle Cow", but apparently not everyone. J Lee, behold:

I assume your Target didn't have Shields ?

Because last time I tried to engage a vanilla NPC Eagle in a Type-9 (carrying 4x Guided Missiles plus 2x Torpedos) - 50 Missiles and both Torpedoes didn't do anything.
And I mean nothing. Maybe 5-10% Shields, that was it.

So think twice before you keep relying on Missiles after the 1.1 changes - they're entirely useless against shielded Targets. Any shielded Targets.
Don't remember, maybe 30000-45000Cr just for Ammo. And absolutely NIL Weapons effect.

Suspect the station and local system police stripped the shields in this instance. I've used missiles once after 1.1 and even with stripped shields they're not as effective as a full set of MCs.

Turrets suffer from massive accuracy decay and become entirely useless within about 5-10sec of sustained fire; possibly tied to Sensor limits - but Class 4A is the physical max. for the Type-9, no way around that

Turrets accuracy depends on the type of weapon. Class 2 pulse turrets are EXTREMELY accurate, yet currently bugged, most of the time they refuse to track the target. Beam turrets have the accuracy problems, but hey, they are beams... If they would only fixed the pulse turrets bug. Oh, right, i have video of the bug:

They just dont want to fire...
