Please add volatiles mining in the icy ring systems

I loved going to the icy rings at Asellus Primus during the Beta. Those places are some of the most beautiful in the game, and the way the chunks scatter light means visibility is great.

Currently there is no reason to visit them, as there is nothing to mine... But there should be.

Not only are the chunks a source of water, hydrogen and oxygen, they also hold other volatiles. For a high value commodity, I recommend adding Helium-3 into the game. 3He is useful for Fusion reactions, and could be the high price, high effiency fuel mentioned in the DDF. Making use of it could require swapping in a more expensive reactor type.

Helium-3 and other volatiles mining can be added before there is any player use for the material, of course. I'd love to see these belts return to life, and to have a reason to visit them again.

I agree there should be more reasons to visit non-metal rings.

Perhaps ice should be a low-value, but easily obtainable mining resource in systems without planetary water. Or even if it's not worth mining for players, one could have quests to disrupt a system's water supply by attacking their ice mining operation.

That hydrogen fuel has to come from somewhere. Of course the low price does mean it wouldn't be worth a players time to mine for it.

There are plenty of other volatiles there though. Hydrocarbons for instance.

It would be great if they do expand the commodities list a lot, and this being one of those reasons why. Water and other ices have value somewhere, after all.

I'd agree with this. One of the most beautiful scenes that I've seen is mining on the night side of a planet, and seeing little pink lasers lighting up the ring way off into the distance.
