I've been using the new exploration tools almost exclusively since 3.3 dropped, and the more I use them, the less I like the "Analysis Mode" HUD view. When I'm looking out my window, I want to feel like I'm looking out my window at real planets, not blue computer constructs. So I'm currently toggling Analysis Mode on just long enough to use these tools, and then I immediately turn it off again, which is tedious after many, many times. Please consider the following:
1) The FSS works in Combat Mode. Not only that, but the "honk" also works in Combat Mode if triggered while on the FSS screen! Therefore, I should also be able to honk in Combat Mode from the cockpit view.
2) The Surface Scanner has it's own "augmented reality" view, showing me what parts of the planet have been mapped, hotspots in rings, etc. This is great. Because I have this, I don't personally need to see this "augmented reality" when looking out my window. In fact, I hate seeing "fake digital planets" outside my window
I'm not saying you just get rid of this Analysis Mode, as I'm sure there are people who like it, but I don't see how it is at all necessary for people like me. As I've said, I'm using it strictly as a mandatory "extra step" to use these scanners, nothing more. If I were on PC instead of PS4, I'd write a macro that would automatically turn it on and off just long enough to use the scanners, but being on PS4, I'm stuck with the extra button presses (buttons that are already maxed out).
And I don't think I'm asking for a lot - just for a developer to modify a few lines of code.
THANK YOU
