Please allow us to simulate races

You can simulate all sessions apart from races. It would be nice to also be able to simulate races.

Races can be fun, but it would be nice to enable different playstyles. I'd like to be able to do a simulation only campaign, where I can focus on car development and finances, without being constantly interrupted by races. Races can take quite a while, and aren't as fun after several seasons.

I was going to try doing a new game save with a different team, but I was going to only simulate sessions, to make it less time intensive. I was really dismayed when I discovered that races cannot be simulated.

In short, I'd like to be able to do deep runs with different teams, without having to invest so much time.

I am sorry to be a moron here, but there's a way to make it less time intensive ! Don't play ...

After simulating the P session, the Q session and the race, why not simulating all the others stuff ?!!

Please, is this a private joke, or are you so bored to play ...

I'm having fun playing the game, but I'd like to try different playstyles. The races really dominate the time, and that's OK to begin with, but the depth of play isn't there to justify forcing them on the player. After a while, they become repetitive. It's a very young game, and I cannot wait for it to get better. I'd like to do some deep dive campaigns where I can go years into the future, like you'd do in other management games. Having to sit through an event for 20 minutes or more isn't common in management games, but this is a first effort, and still very new.

Having such a fine level of control in the races also makes it very easy to get much better results than the car should be capable of. I think the simulate option would present more of a challenge, as the only elements you could control would be the high level team development, car development, setup direction, etc. It would add a different dimension to it, which I would enjoy.

Well done to Frontier, I can't wait to see how the game grows and evolves from here.

This is the crux. Simulating a race seems a bit odd in a game all about the races, but as they are so shallow skipping what should be the highlight and focus of the game can make sense.

Of course, the next issue is that the off-track part is also very shallow. There isn't much of a point in going for another [x] years campaign after dominating everyone with a Williams: you are just going to repeat the same stuff, a bit faster.

I'd argue the game isn't all about the races, that would be F1 2022. This game is all about management. The races are just a small part of that, which I'd sometimes like to delegate to my team (via simulation). The races are just a flashy hook to get people into the game, with something striking and visual. The real meat of any great management game is the management. Finances, performance, personel, contracts, facilities, etc. Way more than just races.

I agree, the whole game lacks some depth, but it's a promising first effort. I'd love to see more features added as it matures.

Simulating races would be useful if you just want to focus on next season's car, and have already abandoned the current season in terms of actually competing.

I'm the opposite. While I will push through practice at x16 and quali x8, I play each race x1 and only speed up if it doesn't look like anything will impact my cars (rarely). I know that I would not have won at least half of my wins if I had let it simulate. However, that's not to say the game shouldn't have the ability to simulate - should cater to all consumers where possible
