Please Change Capital Ship Warp Animation

Since capital ships are very big, it would create a sense of awe if they warp in and out in a lightspeed manner rather than a slow entrance/exit animation. What do you think?

- Updated opinion:

The slow grand entrance/exit of the capital ships is awesome at first, but easily gets annoying if you see it often.

Its in the best interest of the game to have multiple types of animations for the capital ships when warping.

ex.
First time seeing Capital Ships - grand entrance - slow enter/exit using worm hole
Combat Support - warp speed entrance/exit

Sounds are great by the way.

Indeed. Try having ED through a full 7.1 Surround system with a REL or Miller & Kreisel Subwoofer and the extraordinary sonics it makes will raise the primeval 'predator response' neck nape hairs alright. Even thargoid interdictions give you the willies while the unknown artefacts are downright uncanny. The sounscapes created with both capital ships and Thargoid mother-ships is the aural equivalent of Super Cinemascope-65

I agree that the sounds are great, what I'm referring to is the animations.

I would feel greater awe if I see a capital ship warp in the vicinity like how its portrayed in this video.

I have always been super-impressed by the capital ships' method of "making an entrance". It is super-ominous and imposing. In fact it's probably the most exciting thing *about* the capital ships at this point.

I don't think the Star Destroyer jumping into the battle is particularly impressive. What is impressive is the Star Destroyer itself. The moment when it jumps in is powerful and threatening because we know what it *means*: the Star Destroyer has already been established as a massive, powerful, unbelievably threatening force, so when it suddenly appears, it's a big moment. The Capital Ships in elite are currently half-baked. If the experience of engaging with them were more dramatic, tense, and had the potential to turn the tide of some important battle in a meaningful, consequential, dramatic way, then yeah you could have them pop in, or really have them do anything, and when they appeared (by whatever method) it would be an exciting moment.

But I think the current visual and audio effects surrounding the capital ships are absolutely terrific and right now they're the coolest and most threatening thing about them.

I always get a shiver when I watch something like this.

It's hard to get a sense of scale in this game - in this case it's the ominous slowness and the noise (THE NOISE!) that give you the hint these things are huge. (Pity they're so wimpy).

I think you might be a little dead inside. This isn't starwars. That they are very big, loses it's value if they zip around like a lemming hopped up on cocai-err-coffee. Yes. Let's say coffee. ;)

Also how can you not love the audio? I mean listen to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1s7S51zL2Q

Aaahh... Someone else with a nice setup... I totally agree!

We already see that when normal ships jump in. The way they slowly come out of witchspace speaks volumes as to how much power these ships can generate. Not to mention the fact that they can jump into any location and do not require a nav beacon.

They should not change it accept to maybe add more special effects and sounds to the current animation and entrance of those ships.

They're awesome the way they are, they'd look boring jumping in like every other ship, and they have a different drive drive than we do so it makes sense it would be different

that sounds and the Music is...words cannot describe

the sound department really needs a raise

Nope. They're fine the way they are.

Actually the current animations look fine, It just gets repetitively annoying.

If somehow they have alternative animations to to the entrance/exit animation of the Capital Ships in addition to the slow one, it will enhance the immersion and experience in my opinon.

Nopes... doesn't need to change this, maybe add some more vfx and sounds; enhance it... but, it is one of the best jaw dropping experiences, both visually and regarding sound, in the game, alongside Thargoid flowership hyperdictions and Barnacle interactions. :)

I love the space horn, the groaning metal and the electric bass. The sound is fantastic.
I think it's great for what it is. Very 40k.

Myself, I have different taste. I hate worm-hole style travel with the slow emergence.
Until it was portrayed that way in 40k media, I always imagined the ships came screaming out of The Warp at lightspeed and it still looked hyperspace style but with more colors and ghostly faces in the residual mist of the aperture.
I would prefer to see capital ships have a more dramatic version of the way our ships jump in and out (Star Wars/Trek style). Ideally BSG style.

Too bad for me. It is the way it is.
Still badass.

I'm in the almost-instajump camp.

I DO find the Star Destroyer appearing in the blink of an eye impressive. Most impressive. (sorry.)

I would love to see something similar with our cap ships, but maybe not QUITE as instant.. maybe a sudden distortion in spacetime before it flashes into view with shrieking and groaning, as if hyperspace was glad to spit these behemoths out. And when entering, it does so with noise, light and effort, almost forcing its way back into witchspace.

The video is from a time when special effects were not that great and to be honest what you've shown looks terrible compared to what we currently have. Perhaps try some other type of game play where you don't see these ships all the time... They can't be that common and personally I've only seen one of them and boy was it a sight to see them appear.
