Lol... you are quite correct. Even named a Tom Hanks movie after it, IIRC.I always thought a "money pit" was a place to LOSE money, as in throwing it in a pit. Car that breaks down, or a fixer upper house. Am I wrong? Sorry to be a pendant. It's a problem for me.
As to those who are not making much, I tested this place out (*cough* purely for science, I swearz) and it takes about 5 runs to get up to full money making speed, and you basically need something in the python/fdl+ firepower range to be efficient. I ran up a conda for helping new players bounty hunt, and took it out. At run 6 I pulled down a 100mil run, took about 1.5 hours total. Max payout was ~11mil for 48 kills. If you get it in a state of none for all factions, the massacre missions are more abundant, allowing you to focus on only killing one pirate faction (eg kill kashigaut monarchy) missions. With a little luck, and only minimal flipping(often none at all) a wing of 4 can make 80+mil an hour with ease after the initial rep up.
Should this much money be so easily available? Sure, why the hell not?
Does stacking missions like this make sense? Hell no... Thats like paying the neighbors kid to mow your yard, then paying him 20 more times to mow certain parts of it repeatedly...
End of the day, its a game. QoL should always err in favor of the player, not the grind.
