Please consider adding sound that old people can hear when a new "Unidentified Signal Source" is encountered... the current little tick sound (even with the music is cut off) is really weak.

I suggest a sound like when Uhura calls Captain Kirk to bridge... that will wake me up.

Easy oldster solution: turn the sound up to 11- ED deserves to be heard as loud as possible.
