Please ensure weekly Powerplay delivery missions do NOT direct you to newly colonized systems OR ones in Lockdown

My mission:

The system:

I cannot complete this mission because you've directed me to a system that is in lockdown with only 1 port in existence.

There's no good reason for that to happen - there's literally hundreds, thousands, if not tens of thousands of valid systems to send me to. Your system has failed to not overlook systems that would make the mission impossible to complete.

With all the crazy chaotic things going on with Colonization right now, it's just not a good idea for Powerplay missions to be directed to these systems. Maybe down the road, when you've hammered out issues.

But even disregarding that, it should never set up the player for failure with what should be a mundane & simple task. Now I am faced with either the obstacle of flipping this system out of Lockdown all by myself, or with being forced to give up on doing this at all.

This is the kind of thing that kills player interest.

This is an example of the 'Breaks'. Some missions are easy, some aren't, and some can't be accomplished. Have you tried the Scan Megaships in 'Acquire/Reinforce/Undermine' systems yet? That one will get you whining.

Elite is ok with us failing sometimes.... It builds character.

Part of the problem is that system states can change faster than PP tasks.

I don't know if that is the case yet, but yes - the initial missions should be doable in any case. Everything else can be sort of optional (I just noticed that I got more merits from scanning the megaships than I got for completing the assignement...)

Hey, you're lucky you got an assignment that is completable in theory. Please look forward to assingments that are literally impossible due to being out of range, or directing you to a test system you can't normally see.

Had that one for this week (Undermining IIRC). Go to mission statement, show in map, jump around and look at the contacts tab in each system. From the systems that I tried, more than half had a megaship, a few had two. After a few false starts (check system map, check INARA) I settled on visiting those enemy systems that had "larger" symbols than just the single downward triangle.
What still confuses me, though, is that most ships gave 400+ merits, while at least one gave 600+ merits. Acquisition might be more problematic, since a lot of acquisition systems seem to be otherwise empty systems with newly constructed ports. "combat hamster training facility" indeed.

I, initially, tried to search INARA for 'Bulk Carriers', and them matching the correct system status, but there was no continuity. Megaships weren't always where INARA said they would be. So, yeah, now I just jump around through the correct system 'types' until I find enough ships to scan. Early going on this Assignment type was pretty frustrating to me.

I did and it was a chore, alright, but at least it was 'accomplishable'. I think I did make another suggestion thread about clarifying what is and isn't a scannable megaship.

Failing because I messed up is one thing. Failing because the game has forced me to, either from RNG or impossible conditions, is entirely another.
