Please explain equipment specs to me

I have a somewhat understanding but can you guys further explain equipment specs.
For example, I want to buy a better shield generator. So explain class, Rating, Integrity,
And optimal hull mass. Thanks guys!

Have a look at the link, basically the shield generator needs to have an optimal mass equal to or higher than the ship's hull mass on the Asp build below the hull mass is 280 T the 5C shield optimal mass is 405 T so the shield will provide good performance, a 6C will be better (+14.5%) but costs a lot more, is twice as heavy and needs more power.

Class is the internal slot size 4, 5, 6 etc, rating is the quality A, B, C, D, E, integrity refers to damage resistance I believe B rated tends to be better.

In a nutshell:

E - the worst
D - the lightest
C - good
B - the heaviest but with some advanages
A - the best (?)

Higher the rating, more power it uses.

Class 1 - the worst (lowest)
Class 2...
Class 3...
...
Class 8 - the best (highest)

Best shields need to be the highest class possible and A rated.

Note that you don't always need A rated module.
