Please Explain SCB's Since December 2015 Update

After the December 2015 update that changed the way Shield Cell Banks worked I only used a SCB one time before I left to go exploring. The one time I used it in December I suffered extensive heat damage. I have a Vulture and used a 4A SCB.

I just got back from exploring and am ready to get into my Vulture and go hunting again. Please explain the proper way to use SCB's now. I do not want to suffer heat damage now every time that I want to use a SCB to recharge my shields.

The rework of the SCBs heat generation does imply you should use heatsinks to get rid of excess heat,
heat sinks got buffed to do so.

Allocate one utility mount per SCB for heat management; when using SCB, trigger heat sink as heat gets near 90% and it will absorb the vast majority of 'shock' heating from the SCB charge. It is worth noting that using SCB whilst actively shooting will create crippling levels of heat. This is by design.

A single heatsink will provide 4 pucks, just as an A class SCB will give you 4 recharges. Time the two and it should cease to be a concern.
