Please fix raw materials farming

I loved farming and now I hate it. Its a nightmare. I know how to find geological places and material rich worlds but they all seem to drop lvl 1 or 2 materials. What I found silly is that I have to drive my SRV miles around a planet to find 1 silly little rock... a whole damn planet with almost no rocks!? What kind of b.s is this? Are these planets poor on welfare? Waiting the end of the month to get some food stamps? Oh wait... maybe only the mighty fdevs can get to go for higher materials... we the peasants need to sit down, we don't get to go. I don't get it how can pristine material rich planets be so empty? I need to drive 10 min. on avg to the next rock to get iron. For the love of David Braben please, I get on my hands and knees, kiss your fdev holy feets - please make the raw material farming more enjoyable. I even installed Sims 3 just to lower the pain of this game. For the amazing people who say the farming in this game is brilliant: I hope an asteroid hits your ship and you crash into a thargoid toilet and they flush it. I am sick of this!!!

They've entierly broken material farming along with everything else in the game. It's like they were actively trying to push people away. I'm sure it's just a bug though in all serious i hope so because the grind was tough before but if this new way of finding material is intended you can go suck a lemon fdev!

I am happy with low materials... because I trade them up... but its silly to go 10 min. on average on a planet to find a single rock. Its not enjoyable anymore. I am not against the new material scattering... I like it, more realistic but the more common rocks/materials should be more and easier to get. Especially on a huge pristine material rich planet... a HUGE planet should have rocks on its surface more. There is no difference between a rich planet vs poor planet when you go SRV mining... they yield the same.

And on topix

I actually agree, the new farming (or new new farming? i haven't been around long compared to many) is pretty tedious. I mean sure i did need the iron and carbon and sulfur, just it'd be nice to get a few more "oh yay Ytrium" moments.

Wouldn't be so bad if we had a signal scanner as part of the ship radar if you're flying say, 50m? 100m? off the surface. I'm just not a big fan of the SRV and the less time i have to use it the better.

Yeah, it’s definitely bugged atm. If it still dropped the same mats as it does Horizons bit with the new layout that would be cool.

Have you tried the "crashed anaconda" sites? In Horizons there are three cargo racks dropping antimony, zirconium, tellurium, ruthenium and tungsten. The drops might change in Odyssey though.

My favorite is Koli Discii 6a. Although there is a 96000 ls supercruise, the terrain is flat. Also no longitude or lat needed. Within 1000ls, the crashed ship is targetable on the nav panel.

Sally implied that may be bugged, so i'm hopeful it'll get sorted eventually, although i'm not expecting it in this next update unless it turns out just to be configuration tweak.

There is a variety of raw mats dropped at Odyssey crash sites.

FDEV is doing something with Volcanism... I get a sense something is in the works... my gut says we are going to be pleasantly surprised when its all up and running

that being said, the material farming ie: polonium, yttrium etc is clearly not working as intended or final product.

I am seeing what appear to be clear channels for lava flows and cinder cones on maps

something is coming.

On the Odyssey server, I only collect iron and sulfur during planetary mining. Although other raw materials have higher percentages. On the planet where I am, iron is given as 1.8 percent. Is this a bug in Odyssey server?

It might be a bug... or it might be part of a redesign they just could not quiet finish in time
