Please fix system map loading time

It takes too long and cannot even be cancelled. I just got dropped hard out of SC going straight at a star because I had not fully throttled down when I hit the button for the system map. It shouldn't take 10 seconds to load and even when it does, using the cancel/back button should actually, like, cancel it.

There is a lot to improve. System map should load in background after jumping into system, so opening it should take less than 1s. Also while browsing galaxy map after selecting star, system map should already by started generating in background. Currently it looks like Frontier programmers did not heared about multithreading programming :(

Last time I used it I thought I'd have enough time before docking...next thing I hear is me crashing into the station (shields held). It should be instant FD.

Really?? mine can take up to 30 seconds, FSD jumps can take a minute or more. Perhaps the launcher could include the option of saving a cache of your local data on an external HD of choice of size I'd be happy to cache a few GB or even dedicate a whole HD to galaxy data. Even use Readyboost or an SD slot is that possible?

It is certainly not 30 seconds for me, but may reach 20 at bad times. I noticed that since 2.0, the planet textures in the system map start blurry and get fully detailed after quite a significant delay, however, in 1.4 they were at full quality by the time the map had loaded (and map loading was just as bad as it is today, btw).

Curiously the galaxy map is there nearly instantly. Y u no like galaxy map, system map?
