I really fought with myself if I should post this, and I decided yes, it's for the better if I clearly state this.
Please, Frontier, put more effort in your communication.
If your (and Microsoft's) initial annoucement is, that Elite: Dangerous is Xbox One Exclusive, and then later you have to clarify for the community and the press that it's only a 'timed exlcusive', you did something wrong in the first place.
Please, for the future, simply be honest. Tell everyone: "This is coming to Xbox first, and it will stay exclusive on Xbox for a while." This way you don't have to mention Sony's Playstation 4 on Microsoft Events, but you totally made clear that other platforms / consoles are in the pipeline, with just a few additional words.
This is similar (yes, I'm bringing up the old story again): If you declare ship paint jobs as limited time offer, and then later on the same paint jobs re-appear on the shop, they simply were not limited time.
So, what I really would like to ask you is, that you don't leave out important information in your official communication and simply communicate your intents clearer. Even with placeholders that "we plan to do X, but this play might not work out."
I know that official information from Frontier could lead to investment decisions in your company (i.e. you announce something, people feel that will be great and buy shares), you don't do what you announced, shares loose value (and investors could sue you for your misinformation). But the very same goes for missing information. You announce 'Xbox One exclusive', I buy shares just because of that, you release on PS4 too, and the loss of exclusivity impacts share value, I lose money. Given european financial laws, you could be made responsible.
That said, all backers already invested a lot in ED. I put insanely large amounts of money in a project you just promised to do. While, in fact, I do not participate in money as a real investor would, the only way you can make me participate is in fun with the game and the community. Please don't kill this fun by bad communication.
Think twice, please also think about about your communication will likely be understood from others not knowing your intentions you did not communicate earlier. Please make your communication more precise. That's all I want at this stage (in addition to you getting rid of the hackers).
