Last night I was putting in the hours trading my way to a brighter future. I have a Lakon 7 with 216 tonnes of performance enhancers on board. I un-docked, retracted my landing gear, and slowly headed towards the space station exit. As i got close I felt a small nudge from behind. This turned into a full push, and I found myself being crushed into the lower lip of the exit. I tried everything in my arsenal to escape my predicament, but the dum NPC Lakon 9 behind just kept pushing. My shields were holding, and wasn't in any imminent danger, but i wasn't going anywhere. This continued for quite some while, until I noticed the red text from space station warning me about loitering. No matter what I did I couldn't escape. The Lakon kept pushing, and I kept wiggling. Next thing the station starts shooting and destroys me and my valuable cargo.
THIS COST ME 2.7 MILLION!!
I can take some blame for this, but FD, PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE, take a look at the AI in this situation. Did i really deserve to be blasted out of the sky? I think not! Would a real person have noticed the predicament if piloting the Lakon 9? I think yes! Surely he was destroyed as well? I bloody hope so
I don't want my money back...I'll accept this a lesson well learned. But this type of situation could seriously destroy a new players resolve if he didn't have the money to cover the loss. I know many will say that you shouldn't fly without a big buffer to cover any loss( I did fortunately), but to lose this much money still hurts.
I will be back on tonight with my shiny new X-55. Hopefully this will help me get over my Wednesday night tragedy.
Happy flying all.
