Please give the option to have 'safe disengage' fss instead of the key prompt !!!

He means remove all direct references to the keybind in ingame prompts. Which is something I support and have ever since they changed "Thrust Up to launch" to "Press [x] to launch". Make it a mode that you turn off.

Please no, the game already does to much in my opinion. We need some form or skill to fly a ship, Star C does the drop out thing flight is boring as hell

We need something to do

Try to keep up ( ;) ) - the OP is referring to the message - asking for it to be able to be optionally reverted to the "Safe to Disengage" message instead of the dumbed-down "here little person you should press key ... or button ... " that this shagged-up update has introduced. (Me - I think we don't need an option, just give us back our "Safe to Disengage". ) 🕹

Sorry, yes. Give an option in setting allowing people to turn off keys to use

I want messages without keys to press. Other could choose to keep on

We don't need a mode to turn off the hand holding, keybinding messages, they just need to be linked to the noob mode of "test all your controls before you can launch" thingy

Ah ok, just change the label, sure, they should all be optional anyway. In game help on/off.

Yes, most of the good games have that as an optional. Shame Elite doesn't :(

You do an emergency drop and eat some hull and module damage.

Can someone explain when you ever need to do an emergency drop? Why is that even a thing?

It's a good tactical move when evading pirates or gankers.

Or when you know you're already going too fast to avoid crashing into a large body, then you can emergency drop early to then avoid escaping tedious gravitational pull.

I find it very useful in those situations.

What does that even have to do with this thread anyway?

I removed that keybind, and now i have "press to disengage", which is slightly better.
But yes, I prefer more immersive HUD option - not gamey one.

Beside the STORE Symbol in the Station Menu this is the most annoying part of the update. I mean, yah, I get it, new players will be helped by that. Maybe. Because the text doesn't mention WHY you have to press the key. This is as bad as the old solution.
Please give us the old "Save to disengage" message back!
This and the store item are totally annoying. I won't buy any ARXs until this is fixed. After it's fixed and immersion is restored i might get a small package ;-)

I support this simple change.

For me, I like the idea that you're pressing it on the ship's keyboard. I like the idea that some aspects of the spaceship are technologically complex and are not controlled with the hotas. In Elite the ships don't have an aircraft cockpit full of dip switches and buttons, they have holographic displays and navigation and flight system controlled by computer.

Not that I'm against buttons and dip switches now. I have 0 issues with anything to do with Elite's ship design and execution.

with the exception of the type 7 not being the medium ship that it issssssss
