Please give us a system map button and/or the station distance in the mission screen

Every time I check a delivery mission, my main concern is not if I have to jump 1, 2 or 3 times, it's the distance of the target station from the arrival point that takes time and often, it's the main criteria for the mission.

I don't want the star distance removed :), but what we really need, is the information about the station distance or at least a button to jump directly to the system map of the mission target.

In VR, the galaxy map is hard to use, but also in 2D it's a bit annoying that the target system in only centered, not selected if you click the button in the mission screen and 90% of the time the only reason I click on that existing map button is, that I want to get to system map of the mission target.

Each missions I see has an option to open the galaxy map to the system concerned. If you have the system info, you can see the distance to the location.

Yeah they already parse this information from the system map screen. No reason it can't be included in mission text.
Will they do it? That's the question. Even the simplest QoL changes seem to be impossible these days.

I know, as I wrote, I am using this button nearly all of the times to navigate to system map of the target system. But because the target system is only centered an not selected you have to select it by yourself, which is a bit annoying sometimes and very annoying in VR.

I don't need the galaxy map most of the time, because the distance to the target system already displayed in the mission screen. But the time consuming part of a mission is the flight from the arrival point to the station. We all learned it the hard way by taking a well paid delivery mission to Hutton Orbital in our early days, did we? ;)

Yep... that would be one of the larger QoL features I would like to see.
If you don't have the system map information, they could simply not display it or disable the system map button like they do it in the galaxy map.

I'm torn on this one. On the one hand I don't think the game should hand-hold us at every turn, but I've been doing quite a few delivery missions lately and it did start to get tedious opening the galaxy map then system map every time. On balance I think it would be a good QoL improvement.

That's a matter of opinion, I find it easy to use. Just a question of finding HOTAS bindings that work for you. Please tell me you're not using the mouse.

I agree that the game should not hold our hands too much and at a second thought a system map button is all we need.
The distance to the station is a problem, because we do not know this for every target an the button only should be easier to implement because it's status is equal to the system map button in the galaxy map.

Galaxy Map in VR: hehe... no... I know you cant use the mouse in the galaxy or system map in VR because of the you have two view ports and how would you point on a system with a 2D pointer by not closing one eye :).
And jep... I am not totally happy moving the cursor around in 3D with my X55 HOTAS. Maybe I have to try out some different layouts for that.

He's right.
After A little practice and a key re-config- I find the GalMap easy in VR. I have two thumb hats on my throttle that do all the work.

Granted it did suck at first.

But here's a hint- turn on the grid.
It helped me a lot.

Good luck.
