While this is a great idea, I think it would just be better if we got different coloured lasers based on their class. It used to be we had different colours based on MWattage of the laser. I'd like that to come back.

Yeah, that would be cool (hot?) as shows a higher wavelength or temparature for the lasers.

Though I think Class 3 would probably only be yellow/white level, as in FE2/FFE they went from Red (1MW), Orange (4MW), White/Yellow (20MW), Blue (100MW), having four classes, not including the mining laser.

Or red. But, I fully endorse this idea too. Also a muzzle flash with a different colour for the projectile weapons.

They should be blue because the Courier would look odd otherwise. I don't want to hear about logic and reason. It would just improve the baseline experience 100%, because getting into the groove is more important than all the mechanically sound explanations ever pulled out of a tech manual. It grants wings of flight in the psychological department. And what are we, if not beings capable of a whole assortment of irrational feelings? I'm all for technically plausible steps in order to make the world feel sane, but make the Courier shoot Blue lazors please. Because it is the sexy thing to do. And it must be known on some deep emotional level!

Also, I haven't gotten to the breakfast yet, so it is -not- the blood sugar speaking...

Mug holders for haulers/traders, capuccino for passenger ships, and shot glasses for combat ships.

Bottled water holders for the multi-role ships maybe?

100 MW. Powerful, but overheated in seconds, even with a cooling booster.

The white/yellow 20MW was more practical IMO.

The 100MW was the light blue, which would reflect perhaps the heat of the laser due to the power put into it. The plasma accelerators were a brilliant blue river of energy. Sigh, good old times :)

I personally put a 5MW pulse laser in either an Osprey X or an Eagle 3 and took on the universe, all the way up to Elite :)

Oh, come on! As if the empire hadn't had enough DEF love, already: 2 shiny exclusive ships, better trade routes (imperial slaves), massive galnet presence, many community goals in empire space, .....
far too many players seem to choose this faction. unbalanced player support may be an issue in the future.

Its time for the alliance to shine! :D (or even the feds)

Yes, also imperial ships should get custom cases. And a small antenna bobble. And... yeah ok, a bitten fruit decal.
