Please give us Async TIMEWARP

I have Horizons working with the DK2 / 0.8 and SteamVR installed, but it seems that any occasional drop below 75fps is still problematic.

I have seen the excellent use of timewarp in "FlyInside" where framerates down to 30fps still display smoothly in the rift.

If elite were to fully implement asynchronous timewarp, it would hugely reduce the debate about "what hardware do I need" as I would hope Elite VR would run smoothly on a much wider range of equipment.

So my plea to the developers is, can you please implement async timewarp in Elite, especially with the imminent release of CV1 which will require even more grunt.

Me think that this should be part of the Cobra re-haul, along with DX12 and (GPU) VR APIs. While they may get around doing it, eventually, some days (not "soon" tm) I don't think we will see that until a further expansion or two.
 
Definitely. Probably one of the most important things for VR implementation, especially if we begin stuttering for whatever reason.
 
Totally agree! timewarp is one of the key ingredients in getting VR right.
I’m a big supporter of what Daniel Church has done to bring great VR to FSX and P3D with his “FlyInside”. If ED can do the same and get timewarp happening we should see the end to all those judders.
