Horizons Please helo me understand super power rep.

Yes, I'm confused about this and I have searched and read some posts but it doesn't seem to be working as advertised for me.

I have been taking a lot more missions from factions that are aligned with the federation than those that are not. I trade at mostly federation stations. I donate $$ in missions and my rank at 83% post commander. I sell exploration data to federation stations.

The part that confuses me is on panel 4 on the right. It is currently reporting I'm friendly with the federation cordial with the other two super powers. It's only at 76% friendly right now with the down red arrow. The last thing I did was turn in $200K bounties in at a federation station and got an incoming message of a rep change that I'm considered an ally of the federation. I also got incoming message about two federally aligned local rep changes from neutral to cordial. So why does my super power rep keep dropping in the right hand panel? Its like it counts backwards most of the times.

Thank you fellow gamer.

There is a delay in updating, if you got a message saying you are an ally, it will change on the starboard HUD eventually. I am sure you are aware that there's built in decay to reputation and influence.

Check out reddit for additional information.

Thank you very much. A delay in superpower status reporting on the right hand panel would explain part of what I'm seeing. Log out, log back it to see the effect? But, I seem to lose that status pretty fast even when I think I'm taking federation missions. Any thoughts on that?

This is built into the game, FD WANTS YOU TO PLAY, for a VERY LONG TIME. Some aspects of this game trait are fine. I mean, if you haven't done anything for a power lately, why you should keep an exalted grade. On the other hand, a less delightful effect of decay, was the merits system in PowerPlay, it became a job and I bailed out after a couple of months and enjoyed the game much more since then (you think interdictions are bad, if you belong to a faction you are even more of a target and if you kill opposing faction NPC or CMDR's you get a heap of bounties on your head on top of more interdictions, bounty hunters will annoy you to no end. Now that I have more skill and better equipment it could be a different experience, but I am allied or friendly with the major powers and can go anywhere peacefully and I initiate combat on my terms.

Just recently went to Shinrarta Dezhra and collected bounties to eliminate the lockdown state. I turned in 7 mill+ over a few days of play with other CMDR's who did the same and lockdown went away and became allied with the Pilot's Fed. Of course that will decay as I am not active in that area but you can always go back.

Good luck!
