Please help - 0 Notoriety and cannot pay off 400cr bounty.

Greetings.
I was bounty hunting in high-res as usual.
-Accidentally shot a ''clear'' vessel at long range. Sustained fire for about 3-5 seconds. Minimal shield damage to the ''clear'' vessel (ca. 5% at most). No hull damage.
-400cr bounty on my head.
-Immediately ceased fire & retracted the weapons.
-Several red blips on the map.
-Made my way to nearest system WITH INTERSTELLAR FACTORS (apologies for forgetting to add this at the beginning) with the same ''hot'' ship to pay off the bounty.
-Notoriety at 0, can provide screenshot if requested.
-But the station acts as if I have no outstanding bounties/fines to pay (again, screenshot can be provided at your leisure).
-Refreshing the menu etc. did not help.
-Logged out, logged back in.
-No dice. The station still acts as if I have no outstanding fines/bounties to pay. Yet the ''right menu (system/galaxy etc) clearly shows that I have a 400cr bounty to pay.
-Waited a while longer. Loggout out (again) & logged back in. Still the very same issue :(

Don't honestly know what to do and humbly requesting some advice.

PS! I don't know if *I'm* doing something wrong, OR if this is actually a bug, so I haven't posted it there yet.

Bounties can only be paid at interstellar factors; not every station has one. Low security systems are a good place to look, but I just search INARA to find them. The ingame display for IFs is...well...less than useful, to put it charitably.

You need to either find a port with an IF (low-sec systems) or dock at a port where the Faction issuing the bounty has a presence, but is not the controlling faction.

Edit: Ah, saw your update. Notoriety is at zero and the IF is showing nothing to pay? I honestly don't know what would cause that.

To fellow repliers, please accept my apologies.
It is my fault that I had forgotten to mentioned that I have landed at an Interstellar Factors station (RICCI Installation - LHS3705 System) to pay off my fine/bounty.
I am guessing that this is the right station to pay the bounty, because I only used it maybe 3-4 days ago because of exactly the same sort of crime (accidentally shot a ''clear'' ship after many hours of Bounty Hunting in High-Res). Then I made my way to this very station and payed off my outstanding bounty just fine, with no hassles or wierdness. But this time, it's not working for some reason (the game acts as if I have no bounties to pay).

try going the menu and back in. i've had this happen before. it's almost like you get a little bit of notoriety, less than 1.

this can also happen when you have notoriety and wait for it to expire. sometimes you will need to 'refresh' the game for it to take.

Well landed at the station right next to it, and they accepted my request with no problem this time

Same happened to me. Seems that it takes some time to register with the server. I was clean when I landed, couldn't pay anything off. Next day I had a bounty and could pay it off. Never left the station.

Yepp, frankly I dunno what causes this. First time it happened, it went just fine. But second time there was this wierdness going on (as explained in OP). I think that I have to agree with you that it indeed needs to take some time to register with the server. But since the Notoirety is shown as 0 (the minumum amount), I cannot tell for how long I need to wait before the actual/true ''0 Notoirety'' factor kicks-in with the servers. I think that the devs are slowing making the game better and more player friendly (IMHO at least they are trying to), but there still seem to be some kinks&notches to work out!
Also, I wish that for COMPLETELY NON-LETHAL accidents (such as accidentally opening fire on a 100%shield ''clean'' ship and only shooting for 2-5 seconds at it (and only reducing it's shields by 3-5% at most) would cost us a ''Fine'' to pay at any station, instead of getting a bounty-prize on our heads (meaning kill-on-sight) for sector security forces.
I mean, I understand the bounty punishment if I actually seriously hurt/kill the aforementioned innocent NPC ship, but just shooting mere seconds at it (with absolutely no damage and only extremely* small amount of shield damage and getting a kill order for me by security seems a little excessive to me, personally. But as I said; at-least the devs are making thing a little better over time, step-by-step, so I'm hopeful for the future of this game ;)

I have just seen the same thing. Notoriety = 0 and unable to pay off my fine. Had to quit to main menu and log back in for it to be payable.
(all for a traffic violation :eek:)

I'm unable to attach screenshots to the forum but I have them.

If you haven't tried it already, log out and log back in (might be worth a complete restart) that usually wakes up that part of the server.
