Please Help an Xbox Noob. Engineers Question

Got invited by all Engis.
What to do now?

I don't know what will happen when i'll visit em.

Their mods will be avalaible only for the ship i'm flying at the moment?
How does Engi's REP work?
Can i switch ship and turn in their request even if i collected materials with another ship?

I'm a little bit confused.
If you have tips or could link me a post with an explanation i would be very grateful.

1) the intial invites are not all the Engineers
2) they can only mod the ship you take to them
3) Rep is what level of mod you have access to, thought not all engineers offer all levels, it is increased by making modifications, even if you reroll or discard, and for some other activities increase rep, such as handing in exploration data
4) You can switch ships, Materials and Data do not take up cargo space, are not lost on ship destruction, and come with you as you switch ships. Cargo can be transferred between ships if the ship you are switching to already has the cargo space to accept the cargo.

So if you needed one unit of Platinum for a Mod, you can go mining in a mining ship collect the Platinum, sell all but the platinum you need and that will fit in the other ship, switch and the cargo will be transferred.

Plan ahead.

Missions offer cargo as a reward need you to have cargo space to finish the mission. 4 tons is the standard.

5) When you open a Blueprint you can click on the required materials to get a hint where to find them
