Please help! Can't find assassination target!

I only have 20 minutes left. I entered the destination system, ran a scan, and it said the target body was the C star in the system. I've been floating around there for a while now, and the target's ETA window is right now, but nothing's showing up! What am I missing?

I know its way past the time but. if you scan the USS near the planet or star indicated, many times right after doing so, you'll get an audible comm "mission target detected" and it will show on the contacts in a blue highlight. Then...show him whos boss around these parts

Ok, thanks. I'll try that next time. I had the mistaken idea that it would be blue without having to scan it. Thanks so much for the reply! [heart]

Not sure if you checked this, but the target might be travelling in supercruise rather than at a USS. Keep scanning nearby ships as well.

Use your Discovery Scanner, or drop in and scan the Nav Beacon, in the target system, and you should get a mission update directing you towards your target.

Well, i had once an assassination mission like that, dropped in the "blue" uss, foud four ships clearly related (religous supporters), but wasn't specified in which one was my target. Took out 3 of them, one jumped away.
Wasn't able to find any other target, mission failed.

Was it bad luck (he was in the one which fleed) or did i miss something to recognise it?

There is no way to be certain, but I'll wager your target was the one that jumped.
