Please help me get my massive Anaconda into that tiny slot

Simple: Scrape your head going thru the slot. That's all. If you are not trying to duck as you go through, you are still too low.
^^This is the correct answer and watch out for oncoming traffic. Back in the early days you just drove over any ship in your way in the slot, wish I had air horns fitted back then , but these days you have to be a bit more careful.

You can still drive through them, just do it at under 100 m/s

Also, yeah it really isn't hard to do. The advice about feeling like you may have to duck at the last minute (but don't) is spot on.

It may not seem like it but there is plenty of room to get the Anaconda through, once you get used to lining up right it's easy. Keeping her level can be tricky because you're at the back of the ship way up so you need to get a feel for where the bow should be. Pretty much the whole ship is lower than you are so go high.

If you're having trouble with getting tagged by the letterbox while going through, it might be that you are being cautious and going too slow. If you are too slow the switch from station spin to ordinary flight will mess you up when you are about halfway through. You need to give it a bit of throttle so you can glide through the transition without the station spinning into you.
