Greetings, commanders! I am new in terms of PVP and therefore I ask for your help. I set my sights on destroying the Gankers. I currently own the Challenger ship. I think we need shields and fixed weapons. If you already have a cool build, then I ask you to throw it here.

What about missiles? Hounds, etc.
The Challenger is a reliable ship for PvP piracy and some niche PvP combat, but not really suitable for this role as most gankers fly faster ships (like Krait, Mamba and FDL). Hence, unless they decide to do not wake for some reasons, you will never be able to keep them engaged no matter what build you have.

Challanger have similar niche to gunship, good in arranged cowboy duels, but hard to find use for it past this in pvp, maybe not terrible, rather bad if you are focused, too slow to chase most engineered ships, what i like in challanger is, that it's very good pve combat ship (range, firepower, ToT) that is ok in pvp.
