Hi. When I purchased my first ship, a Hauler, it seems to have a bug. Whenever I have something targeted, it puts a black strip across the screen that blocks out part of the view across the direct center of my front window. It only blocks out things that are targeted. The background stars, etc. still are there. How can I fix this? It makes it really difficult to see ships and objects that are targeted.

I believe that this is a known bug. You should ticket it.

Do you have an ATI video card? It is a known bug with some ships when using older drivers. I had the same, just install the latest official drivers and you're good.

Fixed. Thank you sleutelbos. I have an AMD Radeon HD 7570. Should anyone else with this graphics card have this same issue here is what I found out.. Attempting to update the driver through the Windows Device Manager results in windows stating the driver is up to date. However, if you goto your Catalyst Control Center (right click on desktop to get to it) you can go in there and it will in fact update your driver through AMD's control center. This fixed the problem for me.
