Mouse & keyboard (MKB) CMDRs who practice the art of Flight Assist OFF (FA OFF) need a key to toggle relative mouse control.
Flying FA OFF is really something special and unique about Elite dangerous. It is challenging but once you have mastered it, very rewarding and satisfiying. Boosting with FA OFF through the asteroids while dogfighting is about as intense as this game can get.
If you are an MKB commander, FA OFF is a lot easier to master with relative mouse control toggle on. That is why 99% of all players who fly FA OFF have it on.
Unfortunately, as soon as you want to use FA ON again or fly in supercruise, turning your ship becomes a real hassle, as you are basically pushing your mouse endlessly accross the pad. Turning becomes impossible to be performed during combat with FA ON. Your are stuck with purely FA OFF.
Now the perfect flying can really be achieved by the right combination of FA ON and FA OFF because deceleration is much better with FA ON. Many CMDRs want to perfect their skills here.
