Please, let there be waterfalls!

I would also like to make waterfalls. I was thinking about making an Atlantis themed park. So waterfalls would be an almost must! Hopefully this will be in the final game release! :)

I am currently making them out of the vfx water sprayers which looks ok, i am also hoping for when they release water it will have a movement function so that it will fall down rocks and scenary and make streams ect. VFX water goes through rocks.

Agree. Hopefully! I hope that the water gives a real feedback when it touches stones or boundaries from a lake.

Sry couldn't find the right word to explain!

That would look great, but the problem is it could really stress the CPU if you wanted to have a lot of various rocks at different places causing different splashes.

They should give us the decision if we want to stress our PC or not. Just an graphics option!

you have to factor in the time it would take to add versus the pay off, not everybody has a top of the line computer. Its not a basic effect like running water or a required effect like lighting, its very CPU intensive having multiple "splashing" particles. Thats why current previews of water have absolutely no splash effect at all. But Im sure there will be some kind of splash effect, just not waterfalls bouncing off rocks

If they add a rapids ride or log flume they will have to have some kind of splash effect, especially when the log goes down the last drop.

Thanks for the response to this thread!
Just simple waterfall effects will do. We don't want to tax any ones computer.
We don't really need the falls to bounce and roll over rocks and terrain, just fall into the water below.
Although if this is possible let's GO!
Rolling falls over rocks and terrain sounds like a dream I had years ago!
Thanks all!

Rather than waterfalls, it might be better to add different water terrain and effects so players can freely design water scenery without being restricted by the physics engine. Plus then you can design the effects around the sort of falls you want. A smaller stream may be simpler, or you could have something more like roaring falls made up of various white water effects.

The terrain editor is fabulous (just what I hoped for), but waterfalls are key to why I bought the game!
Building great looking parks is my love, waterfalls make the park!
My RCT3 parks where based on coasters running near and around the falls. Link to my RCT3 parks (http://www.mediafire.com/download/lqb0zcl8r51tsne/Hointar_-_RCT3_Maps.zip)
If anyone is interested, and of course you need both Soaked and Wild to run!

I hope this is in the works for this great game!

DOnt worry they will add waterfalls...they created RCT 3 and they will do it when they add in the water in the finale alpha phase

Not necessarily. They've already said in a developer Q&A that the water "Will not be a full fluid simulation" so their plan may not include waterfalls. It is an important feature for me so I would like to express my interest in waterfalls and and to have at least what RCT3 had in terms of water but we can't assume anything. This is not an RCT game, it is a completely new game.

Exactly. Sort of animated building blocks/panels - not very processor-taxing (since its pre-rendered) and probably pretty realistic . Especially with water, all you need would be a few patterns and ground textures (rocky, smooth, mixed) and intensities (trickle, flood, Niagra) and jumble them up a bit and it will look like one large (or small, or whatever) waterfall. Toss in a few random water drops and sprays (pre-animated) popping out of the water panels and it will look great.
