One of the big thrills I have in ED is running around finding pieces of lore found in an abandoned base, a wrecked ship, a ghost mega ship, etc, and having it saved in the codex so I can read / listen to later. But while there are some great things that save there. There are also a lot of great things that only come in as a message, which will at some point be deleted.
Take, for example, the Azimuth story line (don’t worry, no spoilers). There are some great bits of logs that are saved into the codex, but many that are found in the various locations connected to the story that are not. They just show up as messages. Why?
My suggestion is that every log found, whether part of this story line, or the many many other logs that are found throughout the galaxy, are changed so that they can be saved in the codex.
I’ll burn a considerable amount of tritium / time to jump out into the black to find something cool, but it’s such a let down if I can’t read / listen to it later. And if it’s too much to record audio, that’s understandable, but at least let us save the log itself so we can read it later.
