Please make all story / lore elements accessible in the codex

One of the big thrills I have in ED is running around finding pieces of lore found in an abandoned base, a wrecked ship, a ghost mega ship, etc, and having it saved in the codex so I can read / listen to later. But while there are some great things that save there. There are also a lot of great things that only come in as a message, which will at some point be deleted.

Take, for example, the Azimuth story line (don’t worry, no spoilers). There are some great bits of logs that are saved into the codex, but many that are found in the various locations connected to the story that are not. They just show up as messages. Why?

My suggestion is that every log found, whether part of this story line, or the many many other logs that are found throughout the galaxy, are changed so that they can be saved in the codex.

I’ll burn a considerable amount of tritium / time to jump out into the black to find something cool, but it’s such a let down if I can’t read / listen to it later. And if it’s too much to record audio, that’s understandable, but at least let us save the log itself so we can read it later.

Yep, the codex should be the place where old and new players can go to catch up with all elements of the game. It's partially that but but too much work was put into making it this weird checklist of discoveries.

I think you can find it in the codex once you recorded it. Can't remember where it's stored though.

Edit: Nvm, I misunderstood the OP.

Yes please!

It would also be fantastic if the codex could help point us in the right direction to discover these things, for those who aren't around when clues show up in galnet articles. There's a ton of cool lore hidden in the game where 95% of players will never even know to look for it!

Or, alternately, missions that do the same thing and lead to lore. Gotta have some sort of breadcrumbs.

One of the problems FDEV may be looking at with including all lore and story elements into the codex is the problem of cementing lore into the game in such a way that it constrains future game events. If they decide to retcon something that's in the codex that could cause a problem, so only including the basic info plus stuff that's already released in game may give them more flexibility for the future.

Not saying this is a good thing from player perspective, but it may be why they don't want extend the codex massively to include a lot of the old lore.
