Please — no more Elite: Mining

I actually quite like mining from time to time.

But.... I’ve got “only” 1.6Bn or so credits. I just can’t face the tedium of mining day after day just to earn a carrier.
But nothing else comes close, does it, in terms of credits?
It’s just...so...tedious. If only I could be a bounty-hunter or a pirate or a gun-for-hire or something.

I did an hour mining for Bromite today for bgs, in a Bromite hotspot i found 5 cores (only mining ship i have, not trying for a FC and prefer core mining).
None of them were for Brom, two were LTDs. I left them. 1.8B in the bank🤷‍♂️.

I forgot how boring mining can get when you hit bad RNG. And i haven't mined in a long time. Some people must be singing "having me some fun tonight" Predator style by now, ye gads, not my bag baby.

Honestly, do those things. I get on maybe once a week for an afternoon, and do the stuff I enjoy for a couple of hours, and make a few hundred mil. Mining may ostensibly be an efficient way to make loads of money, but you'll get diminishing returns if you're not feeling it and so can't be bothered to put the work in, like any real life job.

I was tempted to do some mining this evening, but I checked the prices and they were around 1.1m/t. Not bad, but not quite enough to motivate me.

You don't have to get one when the update drops. Myself, I'll probably get one next year some time. I'm in no rush.

Well, Robigo passenger sightseeing runs are still giving around 20m each for a 4-jump trip (2 out, 2 back). Also somewhat tedious, but a break from mining. For awhile I was using a JumpConda to "commute" between Borann and Robigo.

The 1.1 Mcr/ton mark is actually the most common high sell price. Only when some system goes into the perfect state and also adds a public holiday on top will go get into the 1.6-1.7 Mcr/ton range. This typically happens like once a week and lasts for one or two days. However, it is pretty random and the drought can go on longer. If you do not like the price, do something else in the meantime. Since I have enough credits and want to avoid burning out on mining, I only go mining when the price is right or when I just really feel like mining (it happens ...).

If you are desperately looking to earn credits for the FC update and can do the mining without getting too bored in the long run, also mining at the lower 1.1 Mcr/ton prices will get you there faster.

Currently doing some materials/ short exploration run , and Sometimes canopus to fedrank/money.
Dont know for the mil/hour but canopus pay quite well for trading mission.

As stated , yeah up some reward of elite/ dangerous mission for bounty ect could be cool.
Even minning mission feel crap tbh :p

If you dont like minning dont rush credits, as for the FC well.... it was supposed to be hard to get ,boraan seems like a goldrush and is mile away from other rewarding activities. dont look to much at it , hope it will dissapear or "nerfed" after june update.

There are some activities in wing that can also reward alot , but i'm not aware of which :/

I stacked transport missions for federation rank. Same systems back and forth, it was a breeze. But I can't seem to find one for empire.

Yes. Deliveries from extraction to industrial systems come very close once you're allied to the factions in the stations. Mining is top at the moment, but that's partly because it's the latest fashion and after the next update it might not be. (Borann triple hotspot gone; LTD prices adjusted).

Yep, I found Sterny's Refuge in Munshin to be great for this. Rich extraction economy surrounded by plenty of industrial stations in mission range. I could always rely on at least one high paying mission from there whenever I docked. I'm sure there are similar places too.

I mix it up. Bounties aren't the best cash, but are fun, and you can get lucky occassionally. Trading and courier missions can get pretty lucrative when you get rep up. I can do simple A to B deliveries and source missions across 1 jump for 2-5 million a go. Sometimes I mine, but it does bore me after a few hours.

In my case I'm mining with a Krait MKII so I have a max of 128t of LTD so I have an average of 1h15 / mining session. Mixing deep core (love it) and surface mining (meh) so that's why I'm not maxing out the T / hour but I don't care atleast I'm not burning out on mining.

Can't mine more than 1h-1h30 / session anyway to stay mentally sane. Slowly reached my 5 billions doing this. Will do a last push to reach 6 billions before FCs update so I won't have to mine for a while and will be able to enjoy my FC not mine for a while.

That being said, I really think that FDev should seriously work on income balance...totally broken and everything is mining-dependant in the game actually...

I found stacking cargo courier missions at sothis/ceos very good in a t9, its only one jump away and i was getting 3 to 7 million per mission, stacking 4 to 7 missions per run, plus you can do a few data courier missions at the same time. I was also getting loads of follow up missions where they wanted 2 or 3 items delivering for 1 to 2 million

You will get interdicted constantly, but it keeps things interesting
