Please remove the animation when selling weaponry

Currently, you have to watch an animation of the weapon folding up and retracting before you can continue using the UI. While it does not actually take that long to complete, it is very frustrating to watch when selling a weapon loadout for whatever reason.
 
letting us pre-set outfitting options from our inventory would be nice.

let us click on our pre-configured outfitting: Anaconda-Passanger or Python-Pirate...

outfitting will be done easy.
 
I so hate these damn animations... I combed the menus to disable them but no go. Optional, if you wish, but please let me make them go away!
 
Yes for the love of God, they are nice to see sometimes but please make them skippable on a button press.

Swapping out multiple hardpoints is just a painful user experience - Frontier, it does not have to be this way!
 
Point defense is terrible. It's just a thingie sticking out of a square so why does it take so long to pop-down and fold the cover? Ugh...
 
Isn't it there to give the client time to synchronize with the server that a module is no longer equipped. This was to prevent duplicating modules then selling them to make money.

It could be removed but the delay would still be there.

^ Yep. If you're paying attention (who does anymore? According to some we should have messages popup every time you buy a lower grade module just in case you're not smart enough to figure out that's going to affect your ship performance), there's a spinning data transfer icon indicating it's completing the transaction in the top corner of the screen. That's the delay, the animation is just eye candy.
 
Optional or permanent removal...

There's a third option: cut the animation as soon as the client got updated on the change, so weapon changes don't take longer than changing other modules.


Either is good with me: Most game developers recognize, that its a negative to take control away from the player without a very good reason. ( like cinematics or unavoidable technical limitations)


A feeble animation of a weapon folding behind a hatch certainly is not a good reason by any stretch of the imagination...

What you say sounds plausible, but isn't actually so: Weapons take significantly longer than modules without animation to get the client updated on the change.
 
I like it to. Makes outfitting feel less arcade somehow. Perhaps we can have that for all parts we change? :D
That was a joke... But I really like the weapon animation anyway. Perhaps it would be better if all weapons change at once upon leaving the hardpoints screen. Would make it less annyoing when changing lots of guns at once.
