Please remove the profanity tracker for the last time!

I am so sick and tired of the profanity tracker and I want it gone. Recently, I recreated a roller coaster at a Japanese amusement park called Seibuen Yuenchi and they had a roller coaster called "Loop Screw Coaster" and "Screw" got censored once I uploaded the coaster to the workshop!
I swear to god!.png

I swear, this feature is BEYOND annoying! If someone says it's for making it more family friendly, I DON'T CARE! I just want it gone! If this doesn't get removed, I'll be going back to Planet Coaster 1! I'm sorry for being mad, but I'm too upset to survive with this feature. So it needs to be removed PERMANENTLY in all Frontier games that features the workshop and Frontier's website in general! I know I posted this already, but failed. I just wanted this feature to be fizzled out because of how annoying this feature is (And I bet that others feel that way too). So this is my last chance to stand to get rid of this profanity tracker in all of Planet Coaster 2 so that the game is a bit more functional and have more positive reviews!
Bottom line: Sorry for being mad, but this feature is too annoying for me and it needs to go!

It's ridiculous to censor the normal word "screw". Related to rollercoasters, it's just short for "corkscrew". They might censor it if a you is following, but as a single word...

That's one of the reasons why I want the profanity tracker removed forever! It's so annoying in like hundreds of ways. It makes me not want to upload creations onto the Frontier Workshop until this issue is resolved.

Their list of banned words might need to be adjusted, ('screw' is pretty tame after all..), but it's doubtful they'll do away with the profanity tracker all together. Especially when framed as a demand.. There's simply too many players with a pre-adolescent mindset who get their giggles from using them. Of course if we still had the Steam Workshop we wouldn't have this problem...

Perhaps running "Loopscrew" together would have gone around it?

Despite this, there's still so many words that are banned that doesn't seem to belong. I know this is extreme when I type "Japan" because every time I type up "Japan" when I recreate a Japanese roller coaster, it goes like "***an" and that seriously bugs me the most. The profanity tracker should be removed because of me and other people being annoyed by that feature. In fact, we had that feature when coming up with park names removed in Update 1. Perhaps they should do it to the Frontier Workshop overall so that the reviews could be a bit more positive.
P.S. I know there are some pre-adolescent players, but the game's creations are mostly made by teens and adults (Like me). But I say that the profanity tracker should be discontinued on Frontier Workshop.

There are some law regulations on this. It is not that Frontier is doing that out of pure fun, it is more that Frontier has to believable make sure that the actively stopped bad things from happening, so yeah there is not much they can do, unless they want review every form of UGC by hand.

So hoping it will get removed is probably a wrong hope.

I don't believe that normal single words (which might get used for other things, too) are regulated by law!
If this would be true, you could censor a lot of normal words...

Screw is a substitute for a more harsher word that shall not be mentioned here. Let's just say that it rhymes with a bird that goes quack quack. The Frontier censor even censors mild words that are not really bad, like the first six letters in Virginia.

i totally understand that they are using a profanity filter. no issue with that. the issue is more like with the workshop search engine. it feels horrible, poorly implemented, outdated and honestly feels like it was bought off of temu. profanity filter, yes. rework the whole thing? double yes.

This problem isnt exactly new.

The law is not that you have to filter out anything, but this is ESRB 0 Game, so they need to make sure that every aspect is some how clean of it. So as their service provides user generated content, they need to make at least somehow sure, that the ugc is also 'safe'

The game doesn't know the diffrence between 'Loop*** Coaster' and 'I *** your mum Coaster'. I agree with danny though, that everything workshop related is bought from temu and the quality of the filter is no diffrence.

But tbh in this specific case I even see the need.

It seems like they've implemented a quick block-all filter in place of the time/money/effort of implementing a more intelligent, contextually algorithmic filter (e.g. blocking 'screw' but not blocking 'corkscrew', as they'd rather be safe than sorry.

That’s ok, you can’t even use the word ‘amusement’ in your names I assume because it found the word semen in there? It’s kind of sad really. Didn’t even make me think of something bad until it flagged it and made me try to figure out what was wrong with the word. Unbelievable really.

What if people try to get around the profanity blocker by using a ! instead of an i, or misspell a word? How about amusament to fool the censor? Why is the word virgin bad? It means pure. Like extra virgin olive oil. The word Virginia like the state gets censored. Even slang words and slang words for body parts get censored. Like a nickname for Richard is D rhymes with Rick, as in D Knoebel, owner of Knoebel's Amusement Resort in Pennsylvania. But you can't use the D nickname for Richard on the workshop. Maybe Rick or Rich would be ok. You can't even use the word cocktail, or peacock. Even a word like asset will get censored. Normal good words get censored because they contain a bad word in them. Words having to do with private parts and bodily functions including bathroom functions are taboo. Would pool get censored like ***l because it contains poo?

This is and always has been of the cat and mouse games: You block one way, bad actors come up with a diffrent way.

Like i said i am on the fence, I understand that it is necessary to have a profanity filter, especially on ESRB 0, but i feel we get waaaaaaaaaaay too much false positives. So if any community manager reads this, maybe there are ways filter out the obvious false positives. I feel there is a diffrence in filters between Workshop and Franchise mode.

Just a second post:

Dear Frontier,

I appologize for being such an Idiot.

Instead of doing research myself, i hoped on a bandwagon of, well let's be friendly here, misinformed post.

Besides the Loopscrew, as in name. None of the words above are censored or anything. I find results under virginia, pool, cocktail, amusement, corkscrew and so on. So yeah, haters gonna hate, even if the reality is diffrence.....
