Please show us all of our visited stars

When the Visited Stars option was first added to the Galaxy Map we were told that it would only work from that point forward. There was a way that you could add in all of the stars prior to this by using your netlogs, or if you used a program like EDDiscovery they could create a txt file that contained all of that information, which could then be imported so you could see you history in the game. I think it added around 8,000 systems when I added mine in.

However there's a problem.

Before the journal, the netlogs would only pick up the stars you had visited if you had remembered to add verbose logging. But considering everytime there is an update it strips the verbose logging line out of the config file (why does it still do this!!!) there were often chunks of time that I would forget to put it back in. Especially when I first went to the Crab Nebula, over half the journey is not accounted for and so it looks as though I jumped 3,000+ Ly in one jump.

But the game knows! It knows which stars I've actually been to.

Last night I was in the bubble and had the 'Not Visited' filter turned on and it showed Castor and Pollux as not visited, but I knew for a fact that I had done. When I went to Castor there was 3 named objects and 2 that were unexplored.

So I had been there, the game knew I'd been there, so for Q4 could we please get all the stars we've actually visited added to the Galaxy Map filter.

Visited systems are written to a local file which can be read quickly on start-up and updated during a session.

Getting the same data from the server and passing it over to the client would take significantly longer - especially on a slower internet connection.

Now FDev could provide a one-shot download service to update your local files, but the day that they released it several thousand players are going to try to use it at once and that'll probably kill the servers for everyone.

Falls into the 'nice, but not worth the effort' bucket for me.

Could FD not apply that file server side, to update the view for everyone? I genuinely don't know, but that way they could apply it during the downtime for a major release. That would be my preferred option, though a one off download I'd take if I meant I could see the actual systems I've visited as when I'm out exploring I use it to make sure I always visit somewhere new.
