Please STOP the mission timer during server down periods !

Many peoples have complained, but again, the EDevs seems to not bother. Why is so hard to implement such a simple thing, ?
In EDO mission timer is usually a lot harder than in the ÊDH, and common sense points out one should NOT punish the players for the game problems... Ok, you need to fix the game, you log out us in order to apply the fix/patch, but you do not care we have just a couple of hours to finish our missions...
I lost 6 of my 8 missions during this update, I simply did not have time enough to return to the base before the servers were down ( finished the missions all, BUT I simply didn't make back on time,, by, literary, a couple of minutes... ).

I hope some who can reach the EDevs bother to read this....

I think mission timers being linked to real time rather than time spent in game is important for manipulating the BGS and should remain as-is. There are situations where there is a cost to this, particularly when server downtime is unexpected and/or protracted but those events are relatively rare and on occasions like today's patch can be anticipated and accounted for.

better question is why are you taking missions right before the server is going to shut down?
Well, go all the way with your logic then, and see how silly your argument become: here, I will make the step for you:
"better question is why are you taking missions playing the game right before the server is going to shut down?"

One needs eons to make the grind, and sometimes certain rare items show-up on missions - rare missions. Yes I took the mission thinking I could do that in 2 hours... But I didn't count the bugs I may encounter...

Maybe adding the server down time to the mission times left for each player to complete the mission would be a good idea, at least they can then complete the ones they were gonna finish anyway 🙂
Sadly, some do not have this common sense...

Well, if he didn't take the missions there would be nothing to complain about :sneaky:

(Apart from the limpets, and the scooping, and whatever ppl find next :) )
Yeah, plp complain about bugs, and some others defend a broken game with inept remarks...

I wish they increase timer to 24hr for EDO missions as it is in EDH. I had couple of cases when lost missions due to server crashes.

You always have Factobibi arguing you shouldn't :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: take the mission... But I fully agree with you, the timer for some missions is too short sometimes especially when you run in a bug, and you need to relog / loose all the progress, and sometime not even that will solve the bug...
Right now, in a courier mission, in a friendly settlement, my Apex choose to land NOT in one of the several FREE land pads but yes, almost 1 km away, in middle of nowhere...

Real time game 🤷‍♂️
Update 10 was announced in advance, picking up missions knowing that you'll not be able to finish sounds like bad planning

Well... that sounds really complicated for what it actually is a pretty much... non-issue.

Of course they could have, but they haven't, and you've played long enough to know this. It is what it is.

It looks like FDevs reduced timers in EDO to:
1. Save storage space in their mission database.
2. Slow down player's progress. In EDH I could take much more missions at a time if they provide, for example, some yummy rewards. Even if i could not complete all of them today I could leave them for tomorrow. But this is not EDO case.

I wouldn't even be surprised if the shorter duration is a bug. For instance, if you complete an Assassination or Takedown (can't recall which one of the two it was), the timer suddenly jumps from less than 6-7 hours to 1 day and a couple of hours. All the other missions keep their original timers, but that one always gives me a day or more to hand in.

You're right, the worst missions are the one with "retrieve x chip from a crashed ..." after you get the thing, the mission timer to return and cash your reward is the same; no further increase. Is no consistency here, no logic, so I think, like you, may be (another) bug...
In EDH I could take at will 20 missions and finish hall of them with no problems at all, if not in one day, than in two... In EDH to take 7-10 missions is a big risk of failure... a lot more bugs, and some missions will not add extra time after you finish... I "screw-up" more missions in EDO in one month than in EDH in 5 years !
At least the faction penalties are not so significant...

Or because some require specific BGS states that can change daily. Could be that eh?

I have yet to time out an edo mission. And I normally do batches of 15-20 in one go. You need more than a crash or a bug to make completion impossible in 4-6hrs.
