Please streamline hunting missions.

Hello,
I would like to make a suggestion to fix something that is very frustrating to me and probably others. I was on a mission to kill 7 pirates in a system, but whenever the unidentified signals spawned (there wasn't a single wanted ship that spawned in the system) it wasn't pirates. It was a couple times, but not enough to complete the bounty, and I ended up wasting time and after an hour the mission failed without success. Also, I killed two pirates in the beginning, but they were not counted to my score, but after a ship offered me the choice to abandon my mission, only then did kills count towards my mission. PLEASE do something about this.
Thank you for your time.

have noticed some odd bugs with the missions where you can meet and npc, they are worded quite badly (some of the abandon ones) and only trigger main mission goal once met, its odd that's why I will stay away from missions for the time being

Heh. You can do those pirate missions at nav points. Just to be clear, Pirates scan you and give you the pirate style comm chatter. They don't have to be wanted (let them shoot and hit you first) but usually are.

I stopped doing them not down to not finding pirates but a bug where you run into a clean NPC who over rides your missions with an abandon it at which point you can no longer seem to get any pirates you kill to register against the mission and only option is to abandon it loosing rep and getting a tiny reward

But my way of finding rats at USS is to always carry a ton of cargo (normally choose gold) and it seemed to give me NPC pirates every 3 out of 4 USS

Just because a ship has a bounty does not make them a pirate.

Pirates have cargo scanners and when you get near them they scan you and say things like 'Let's see what you have for me today!' in chat.

Smugglers and bounty hunters can also have bounties on them, and are not pirates.

I know that. The issue was that whenever I found an enemy with the typicalpirate jagon, "gimme your cargo", they would not count towards my mission until I had talked to the NPC asking me to abandon the mission. After that, they stopped regularly spawning and I wasted over an hour waiting for them and I lost the mission.

I had to find 5 pirates. Easiest way it seemed would to go to the nav beacon. Tried looking in uss's, pulling wanted ships from supercruise, what not, and killing everything with a bounty. Made about 200k in bounties, but finally just ended up hanging out at the nav beacons. Dont know if they reset on spawn, but if there were no wanted or pirate types at the beacon, I would supercruise out and drop back in. Once I resorted to that it took me all of 10 minutes.

Checking their subsystems and looking for cargo scanner seems to be the giveaway. And usually small fighter type ships, sidewinder, viper, cobra.
