Please suggest a video to sell the game

Since Elite is on sale, I mentioned to a buddy that he should buy it. He asked me what kind of game it was and, sorry to say, I said, "space truck simulator" - but the thing is, I've had a lot of fun playing it. I'd like to send him a video link that gives a good overview of the game. Please suggest one.

Only sensible thing when buying any game is to watch loads of gameplay videos from different players. Especially Elite, since it can be played in many different ways.

while isinona is by far the best there is on yt about the game, i wouldn't use it as a recommendation as it will undoubtely lead to very wrong expectations.

not to mention much of isinona's gameplay wouldn't have survived engineers ...

If both you and your friend are on steam, You could use the steam online streaming function. Or setup a twitch account.
Let your friend watch you play.

You make a good point. Plus the one Shadragon suggested above has that infamous 'D-rated' Viper ;)

They are an excellent selling tool of the game's potential though. You don't need a big ship to have fun yada yada.

IMHO : don't try to sell the Game to your buddy if your friendship is worth anything to you. Let the guy look over your shoulder when playing instead.

hehe, i remember this. Fdev really do market the game in the wrong direction.

Its like truck simulator using this kind of footage to advertise itself.

From what I remember of that one I concur. Isinona's videos totally sold me on the game. Thing is you can play lots of different ways; combat, mining, bounty hunting, exploration, sightseeing, mission running, pvp, racing, etc but there's something at the heart of Isinona's videos that really captures (for me anyway) what it's like to play ED. Whenever I watch one of those I immediately want to drop what I'm doing and get straight back into it.

LMAO.....Im dying watching that and it is so true.

It would have been better to show footage of what it looks like if you try a space battle next to a station...PEW PEW PEW...Boom you're dead.

Discord screensharing is pretty good too.

I've gotta say, I love Isinona's videos. I don't know if there's a *single* video that can encapsulate ED because of all the different things that are available, though. Showing him directly might be the best bet, especially if you know what aspect of the game he's most interested in. :)

One more suggestion from me, it's absolutely ancient now but, a bit like Isinona's stuff, somehow captures the feeling of Elite.
