Please tell me that each ships cockpit has a different look and layout in VR!?!?

Hello all,

New user here who, after 2 days of tweaking has his DK2 and Elite working almost perfectly, is seriously hoping that each ship I fly will have a different cockpit and layout. So far, I've only done each tutorial in game with the cockpit that uses and I truly hope that each different ship will have a different look in virtual reality and neat different sizes and cockpits.

They are different...right?!?!?!

Ps, I tried googling this and nothing came up.

yes they do but they all have the same HUD interface. The lakon ships ROCK in oculus. mind blowingly good.

Yes. And No.

They all have exactly the same HUD/UI layout. You will always interact with your ship's systems in the exact same way. That said, the 3D model of the cockpits varies by ship, so the view beyond your HUD will differ. Some have great visibility of space, some don't. I curse Zorgon Peterson everytime I go to launch in my Hauler, look up to check traffic, and see nothing but ceiling.

Absolutely agree. I recently switched back to the Sidewinder from the Hauler to do a bit of combat, and the view out the sunroof is stunning! In the Hauler, you can just about manage with the side windows and the tiny triangular windows in the back corners by rotating the ship, but it's not nice - and not being able to look back over your shoulder for a rear view whilst leaving a station was just scary when I first got the Hauler after being used to the Sidewinder.

I'm planning to get a Cobra soon, but the view is one of the things that worries me the most - have you tried it, and if so can you comment on visibility?

I'm wanting an "egg"-cockpit, like the Millenium Falcon, with floor-portals for tracking in the Rift. Wouldn't that be great?

I'm hoping for a high cockpit -bubble type glass so you can actually look behind you when dog fighting. What an awesome fighter that would be.

Adder is better than the hauler. Cobra is better than both but not as good as the single seater fighters or the Lakons.

Worth noting that while the interface is the same, the actual placement of the holo-screens varies somewhat. Namely, the eagle has a very tight cockpit, like a fighter jet, and the screens are positioned closer to your head (and snaller to compensate). It gives a much more intimate feel than other ships

I really enjoyed flying the Hauler. It i not a great ship to look around, but the cockpit really made me feel like a trucker. It even has climatized air conduits in front of the seat!
