I don't think it's necessary to log in / verify your game's version with the servers / the usual hassle, just to play the updated training missions and challenge scenarios that are included in the main game.
They don't even require a constant internet connection; we can still play them even if, for instance, we were in open play and the servers went down, or the cat chewed on the Ethernet cable (happened to a friend). I have tested this several times. Also sometimes I'm at work and I just want to fly around and shoot things and I'm not even allowed to connect to the nearest hotspot. I play online when I can, and it's very little time which is a shame because I really like the game.
I suggest that those tutorials be moved out of the main game and into the combat training demo, and / or have the log in / verification process happen upon starting either Open Play, Solo Play, etc. Maybe even have an option to use the ship we already have in the main game to play a challenge scenario, but this could be done in a way that only the ship's data is downloaded and upon storing it in the computer, it unlinks the downloaded data from our online save to prevent offline hacks.
Those are my 2 cents. Thanks.
