Pledge to a minor faction

Sounds good. Apart from maybe a little icon showing your faction what else could it possibly mean and how would it be different to a power pledge?

1 - An x% increase in mission value.
2 - The name of the minor faction showing in scans.
3 - Automatically appear as enemy to minor faction we are at war with

Yes, agreed. It seems the natural progression when you work out of one main home system in which you're allied, for you to be able to join that faction

Well, this has been brought up before.

The thing is that FD need to merge or code out, however one terms it, the BGS - Factions - Power Play. To expand PP type mechanics and map views down to minor factions and mission system and BGS mechanics more automated up to PP.

I've heard some say "no" to this, but I've no idea why. FD have layered on a meta game in PP that is disconnected from the rest of the game and feels wrong to me for being so.

Players should be able to join a minor faction and help it spread to neighboring systems. At some point when large enough this might be the way factions become defacto Political Powers in the galaxy/ human bubble. The minor factions pledged to Powers should of course feed up into the PP system somehow, granting the more meta expansion points and such. So player attached to a minor faction automatically gets attached to the associated power. When players dock at stations they should see or have option of a variety of mission boards. The current ones are for Factions. We also need ones for non-factions/individuals, and powers.

Every player's actions should contribute to the BGS changes from bottom to top.

It is easy to theory-craft; so I do.
