If it's just for the ship I'm probably dodging it despite having enough free ARX. There might be some fun critical bug or the special feature of the ship that sways me, but I'm kinda put off by the whole preorder/prebuilt concept and that's pulling me another way.

If it comes with a shipkit or paintjobs (esp unique and good ones for the pre-order) in the preorder price then the calculation changes, but I also know I could get the shipkit on sale for 40-50% off or more later on. In that case the main reason to not buy it for me would be solidarity with people who can't afford it and that's not worth as much.

I will buy it early using ARX. I have saved 70,265 ARX (I am a Kickstarter backer with LEP). I don't really care about other decorations besides the name plate for my ships name, so I may as well use it for something. I think the wait to buy it in game is way too long, but I guess FD hopes it brings in much needed revenue. In any event it is a ship and as I have almost all of them, I may as well add one more.

I, Commander Eeyore_Syndrome, pledge to not buy my Python MK II until August 7th, 2024.
And I was an Odyssey pre-order even.

Who will join with me?
I don't have the motivation to get the new ship at all, to be honest. Unless it has some stellar ability or stat. But even then, I'm done paying for Beta access with Fdev, which is what this is. it's like when they charged folks for the Beta access to Odyssey or Fleet Carriers back in the day. I did it because I wanted to offer my QA expertise and posted religiously on the feedback forums for both those features thinking that Fdev actually read them and cared about the feedback they were getting.

Boy was I dumb for thinking this.

So in short, no I will not be paying real money for early access to the new ship. I'll wait till several patch cycles come out that will balance the thing first.

I will wait for a other release this year. I do not mind spending my (mostly) free arx on a ship that suits my playstyle.

I'll wait to find out what it is, but most likely I'll part with some ARX to get early access. It's not like I have a burning need to spend my ARX on something else.

I will need to wait to see the stats, and then to review feedback from others and perhaps watch a review or a live stream on the pre builts and the early access PMK2. However I expect I will be waiting until August to buy with credits. That said, I do have more than enough Arx to spend on something. Probably not these ships however.

I am not sure, but whether I do or not it won’t affect FDevs cash flow as I have more Arx saved or bought already to purchase it.

My personal dilemma is should I buy the Chieftain package with the Guardian weapons,
pro I like the Chieftain and I have only unlocked the Guardian FSD booster, con I can’t transfer the weapons, the build is allegedly sub optimal oh and I am not too happy about the prebuild idea at least as much as they can be bought for real world money.

It's supposedly going to be 16250 Arx. I already have a bit over 20K. I bought most of the cosmetics I wanted before Arx were a thing, and the 400ish I earn almost every week just sort of sit there unused.
If it's on par with an FDL/KraitII, I might buy it and move my modules over to it from my combat Krait IIs. Will see.

This level of P2W doesn't bother me. PvP is optional after all.

What exactly is your intended goal with this?
I am not OP, but it's almost certainly either; an attempt to get Fdev to give everyone the option to buy it in game in May with credits, or someone wishing to make a stand against P2W. Maybe a bit of both. P2W at this level doesn't bother me. It's not like I can buy an engineered Farragut and go marauding in it....

........Yet................?

Cuz yeah, I'd drop a C-note on that.
