Pleiades , orion and witch oh my.

Just did a loop of pleiades nebula, on to orion nebula, through horse head nebula and back via witch nebula.
All very pretty.
Now I appreciate this isn't exactly a trip to Sagittarius A.
But place bets how may first discovered systems I had?

Yup 0 indeed. When I headed off towards eagle nebula i went straight up above the bubble first then headed off. found loads of first to discover on the roof of the galaxy as I went along on that trip, but bottled it long before I got close to eagle nebula.
Thought today I might find something on my little round trip but no.
Like an old pair of third hand speedos the galaxy seems well soiled. May have to just go for it one day.
Not right now though as I'm sat at over 10k merits again.
Saw a Black hole down in the pleiades.
That was cool.

You have to see nebulars as sort of explorer waypoints thats all :) there's plenty out here ive not seen another first discovery since the eagle nebular and I'm on my way to skaudai

I thought the same thing on my first foray out into the black. I was 700ly out before I started coming across pristine systems. The trick is to get well off the well beaten track. Main thoroughfares between waypoints are going to be well worn so I suspect what would work well is to head out a 1000+ lys, then veer off in a random direction for at least 1000 lys before straightening out. On my first day trip I ended up with about 30 fresh systems out of about 120 in my cart log, and that was all within a 1300ly of Sol. It's a big galaxy! Lots of fresh stuff to see, you just have to find the hidden corners that haven't already been peered into.
