Plotting the unplottable.

Hi Guys,
I would like to go from my current system (Kokoller) to Nagarlaw as this is the closest (non CQC) where I can chop in my Federal Dropship for a Chieftain :)
When I use the Galaxy map in the ship console, I get "Route Plotting Failed". I presume that this means that one or more of the hops is more than my current ability (6.98 Ly).
I'm guessing that it is possible with the right ship?
So, how do I find out what the minimum jump range needs to be? (so I can try a different ship).
I don't want to try to do the trip manually (by choosing a nearer system and seeing if that is possible, if not, trying the next nearer one etc.) as this would take ages :(

Am I missing something blindingly obvious? (it would not be the first time :))

Thanks

Hen

Hi (again) Strontium Dog,
Still says "Route Plotting Failed"
Tried Economical Routes
Fastest Routes (with and without Jet-Cone Boost)
and FSD Boost
:(

You are using the worse Frame Shift Drive available for the slot size. Also the heavier your ship the lower the jump range. E modules are the heaviest and you basically have an E grade ship. Once you get your jump range up you might actually reach more places.

Just trying that but, I have a 5D Shield Bank on my Dropship and Coriolis doesn't let me put it on!?
🤷‍♂️

Excellent - thanks. I knew there must have been something stupid I was doing....

map plotting is a bit of an art form on the outer rim the further out you go the less stars there are and a huge via
may be required to find a way around a void (kgbfoam less)
