I believe that is a natural light photo...but darn...the size of the flash cube must've been huge!

NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft captured this high-resolution enhanced color view of Pluto on July 14, 2015. The image combines blue, red and infrared images taken by the Ralph/Multispectral Visual Imaging Camera (MVIC). Pluto’s surface sports a remarkable range of subtle colors, enhanced in this view to a rainbow of pale blues, yellows, oranges, and deep reds. Many landforms have their own distinct colors, telling a complex geological and climatological story that scientists have only just begun to decode. The image resolves details and colors on scales as small as 0.8 miles (1.3 kilometers). The viewer is encouraged to zoom in on the image on a larger screen to fully appreciate the complexity of Pluto’s surface features.

EDIT: Oh, and it would be a lot more darker. And we might not even see any colours at all. There's not too much light out there... (40 times the distance squared = 1600, eg. 1/1600th of the light we receive on Earth. This is a very, very crude estimation though)

EDIT2: With another quick lookup that should be enough light to activate color vision, at least on bright objects. I don't know about Pluto's albedo, though. Also the amount of color contrast on Pluto's surface seems rather low, so even if we'd see Pluto with some coloration, I doubt we'd see any color differences on surface from a high orbit (eg. such that we can see the whole sphere in our vision)

Has Frontier said anything about when they'll update Pluto's appearance in the game? Couldn't find anything definitive with a simple search.

I remember seeing something about it in some patch notes... either the latest 1.3.X, or maybe the upcoming 1.4?

Amazing image ;)

Love the flat part in the centre.. hoping Horizons will bring interesting variations in detail like this.
